Recently (for the past 8 months) I've been working with Free League Publishing on their next instalment for Mutant Year Zero, a apocalyptic role-playing game.
To begin with, I was asked to do 2 trial illustrations, this and the Robot Hive, and they very nearly cost me the job from the get go! For some reason it didn't occur to me to find out more about the world it was set in, or do an pre-concept work like I usually do, I just jumped straight in and assumed a bunch of stuff, like how the robots looked etc. Hopefully you'll see the difference in quality as I release more work.
Luckily I was given another chance, and we basically wiped the slate clean and started again.
